Dr. Wright, a licensed psychologist, obtained her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Georgia School of Professional Psychology (a division of Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia.) She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Western Kentucky University before moving to Atlanta to continue her pursuit of practicing psychology.
Dr. Wright completed her pre-doctoral internship in the Carroll County School System working with children and adolescents and their families. She planned and implemented psychoeducational evaluations and behavior therapy aimed at changing disruptive behaviors in the classroom. She is well versed in the formal procedures of the school setting.
She completed her post-doctoral fellowship in a private practice in Georgia where she performed psychoeducational evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. Her experience in various settings and throughout her training have given her experience providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults as well as group therapy to young adults with a variety of mental health issues. She also has experience as Coordinator of Behavior Therapy in a community-based setting providing evaluations and behavior therapy for children, adolescents, and adults dually diagnosed with intellectual disability and/or autism spectrum disorder and emotional/behavior disorders. She has worked as a research assistant at Vanderbilt University on children’s social interactions and at Western Kentucky University on jury bias and multiculturalism.
Dr. Wright provides individual and family therapy to children and adolescents. She also performs psychological and psychoeducational evaluations to this age group. Additionally, she offers individual therapy with adults. Dr. Wright’s focus in therapy is primarily relational/interpersonal and psychodynamic in nature. She includes cognitive behavior and/or behavior methods in cases when beneficial to the client.
Dr. Wright’s areas of interest include ADHD, learning disabilities, depression and mood disorders, anxiety, parent coaching, bullying, social skills training, loss and grief, stress management, and life transitions.
