Samantha R. Jordan, Psy.D.

Samantha Jordan, Psy.D.Dr. Samantha Jordan came to AAPA in September 2011, and she is currently completing her post-doctoral requirements under the supervision of Gary Dudley, Ph.D.  She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Psychological and Counseling Associates, a private practice in Huntsville, Alabama.  While completing her post-doctoral fellowship at AAPA, she serves as the Psychometrist for the practice.  This is a position in which she is gaining extensive experience in assessment and interpretation of test results of children, adolescents, and adults.

Dr. Jordan is a graduate of the Clinical Psychology program at Argosy University located in Atlanta, Georgia, where her academic concentration was in Clinical Neuropsychology.  During her graduate training, she provided assessment services to adolescents and adults with traumatic brain injury at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia.  She also completed therapy practica at Clayton Center Behavioral Health Services in Jonesboro, Georgia, and Auburn Renaissance Center at Grady Hospital where she provided psychotherapy to adults with severe and persistent mental illness.  During her internship, she gained greater skill in psychological assessment with children, adolescents, and adults.  She gained especial familiarity in assessment and treatment of ADHD with children.  She conducted individual therapy with children, adolescents, and adults.  She also conducted group therapy with boys aged 8-11 years old with problems with attention, self-regulation, and social skills.  

Dr. Jordan works with children, adolescents, and individual adults.  As a therapist, she utilizes techniques from cognitive-behavioral and humanistic theories.  Her warm and calming demeanor has served her well in establishing and maintaining rapport with her clients as well as furthering treatment progress.

Dr. Jordan’s areas of interest include neuropsychological assessment, increasing compliance with mental health/physical health treatment regimens, psychotic disorders, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, social skills training, and stress management.
