Psycho-Educational Summer Groups

Atlanta Area Psychological Associates, PC is pleased to announce the following summer small group psycho-educational sessions for children and young adolescents.

Primary Friendship Skills Group Grades K - 2nd Focuses on building skills to help children develop and keep friendships with others. Meets Mondays June 8 through July 13th 1:00 - 2:00 pm in Acworth office

Intermediate Friendship Skills Group Grades 3rd- 5th Focuses on building skills to effectively interact and develop successful relationships with peers. Meets Mondays June 8th through July 13th 3:00 - 4:00 pm in Acworth office

Middle School Girls Peer Proofing Group Grades 6th - 8th Prepares girls of middle school age to deal with the many issues that impact them during these middle school years. This small group will provide opportunities for students to work as team members and foster social and academic skills. This experience will promote positive self-beliefs, strong self-concept, positive adjustment and feelings of self-worth. Meetings will be held at the Marietta office Fridays July 10 through August 7th 12:00 - 1:30 pm. The final group will be on Friday, August 14th from 5:00-6:30.

Social Skills for High Functioning Aspergers Children Grades 3rd - 5th Focuses on specific skills that will assist in building social relationships with peers. Meets Saturdays July 11 through August 15th 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM at Alpharetta office

Please pass this information along to the parents of children you think might benefit from participating. Registration may be made directly over the phone to AAPA's main number @ 770-953-6401. Detailed information on locations will be provided at the time of registration. All group sessions are $40.00 per session. Registration must be made for participation for the entire 6 week group session. The downloadable group registration form may be given to parents to mail-in for registration.
